Best Astro Apps Compared: PsychicBook, Kasamba, Keen, Purple Garden & More

People no longer look for predictions on TV or in magazines like they used to; everyone has switched to smartphones. Need help with relationships, finances, or your natal chart? You can open it and get an answer your phone is always with you, so it won't take long. In this article, we'll compare the best free astrology apps: PsychicBook, Kasamba, Keen, and Purple Garden. We downloaded them, used them, learned what they offer, what makes them unique, and what benefits they offer. We also tested the app's functionality, interface, structure of paid and free content, availability of experts, and ease of use. I use PsychicBook, and I'll tell you why.

Comparison of the interfaces of the best astro apps

Once you've logged in, the main screen is your next stop. We'll explore what's on the main screen in apps, what their interfaces are like, what unique features they offer, and how useful the app is for the user.

PsychicBook

The main page has a clean interface, pleasant colors, no flashing, and no pressure. Daily and tomorrow's horoscopes are immediately available. Below is a section with your natal chart, which you can access for free. Further down, you'll find a dream book where you can interpret your dreams. There's also a section with horoscope scenarios if you're looking for something more specific. The app is well-adapted and helpful, not overwhelming. The app is well-adapted and helpful, not overwhelming, and for those just getting started, there's also a psychic book promo code available to make your first consultation even more accessible.

Keen

From the very first seconds, it's clear that the main goal is to push the user toward a paid session, and it's so intrusive.

  • At the top is the offer: 5 minutes of consultation for a dollar.
  • Below is a scale with points and rewards for adding a card or paying for the first consultation.

So, there are bonuses in the form of a rewards system, but everything revolves around payment. But nothing else useful is found on the main page. You can take a free test, and they'll match you with a consultant based on your needs, but the consultation is paid.

Purple Garden

The main page features a showcase and live consultants: each has a photo, rating, price per minute, icons, and available communication formats. There are filters: love readings, tarot, astrology. It's immediately obvious that it's well-designed, but there's no free value on the main page. While there's transparency in the form of ratings and reviews, there are no short descriptions or predictions.

Kasamba

The main page features a banner that says "3 free minutes with 3 advisors," plus a 50% discount on your first reading. Below are categories for numerology, tarot, dream books, and fortune telling all structured. Below that, there's an advisor with a description, reviews, and a "Join" button. Here, they briefly explain each advisor's skills. Visually, it all feels like a full-fledged showcase with clear terms and conditions, but they also immediately entice you to pay, while also letting you try something.

Astrologer profile in the app: what we see before the consultation

PsychicBook

PsychicBook clearly wins in terms of information content. Everything is immediately visible: rating, number of reviews, rating, description of the specialist, list of specializations and topics they work with. You can immediately see whether they're online or offline, click chat, and start a conversation.

Kasamba

Kasamba's profile includes a detailed description, separate sections for "About Me" and "Services," a reading count, ratings, percentage of satisfied clients, and how long they’ve been providing consultations. They offer pricing options, allowing you to call or chat. The screen displays the price per minute and whether they offer free minutes.

Keen

Keen has a rating, number of reviews, and availability for calls or chats. The description is a few lines long, without a detailed biography, but the language spoken and specializations are listed.

Purple Garden

Purple Garden is the most interactive. The expert's photo takes up the entire screen, you can view video previews, and there are prices for different types of sessions (chat, call, video), but no information about the specialist. There's no description of experience, history, or approach; all hope lies in a high rating.

How to register in astro applications

The first time you launch the app, you're greeted with a login prompt. Logging in without it isn't possible; everyone has their own approach:

PsychicBook immediately asks for a phone number: no email, no Google or Apple login. You enter the number, wait for a code, receive an SMS, and enter the numbers. This is odd if you wanted to explore, not provide personal information.

Kasamba, Keen, and Purple Garden are different in this regard; they also require registration, but you choose what's most convenient for you: email, Apple ID, or Google account they have a choice. This is already a plus: it makes you feel more confident.

Free content in astrological apps: what you can get without paying

Not all astrological apps offer a lot of valuable free content. We've compiled and compared what you can read or use for free in PsychicBook, Kasamba, Keen, and Purple Garden.

How does communication with a specialist work? How do consultations work in the Astrolo app?

Firstly, PsychicBook has paid features, which is cheaper. Secondly, you can log in, open a chat with an expert if they're online, and message them, and they'll respond. You don't have to pay upfront or fill out a form; you just log in and start a conversation. This is valuable, because everywhere else they ask for money first and then grant access. Experts respond quickly, which means they're actually working and not just hanging out online. You can check their ratings and reviews, and figure out who's right for you. Moreover, the prices are reasonable, $1.99/minute. And the experts are on par with their competitors.

Keen certainly has a discreet appearance; everything is neat and clean. But until you pay, you can't even access the chat. They do offer phone calls, but you first enter your card, pay, and only then are you granted access. Overall, it's convenient if you know what you want.

Kasamba gives three free minutes, which is their strong point; you can try it without spending money right away. They have a good selection of specialists, and it's clear who understands what.

Purple Garden offers paid access to chat and calls, but you can view each expert's rating, their per-minute price, and a short video describing them. You'll understand how the expert communicates and whether they're right for you. The app offers a variety of topics for you to answer, and the cost ranges from $0.99 to $5.99 per minute.

What are the reviews like in the app store?

Regarding reviews: PsychicBook has a good reputation – people actually write reviews, it's user-friendly, the responses are quick, and the team is helpful. Keen has plenty of reviews and a high rating. Regarding Kasamba, some are satisfied, others accuse it of formulaic responses, but the developers are trying to respond with updates. Purple Garden seems like a perfect 5.0, but a couple of reviews don't inspire confidence. Decide for yourself which one is right for you.

Why I chose PsychicBook and what other apps lack

After comparing everything, it became clear why I chose PsychicBook. Firstly, the app truly functions as a platform where you can read, find what interests you, and communicate. Even if you're not ready to pay upfront, you get access to useful features like horoscopes, dream interpretation, daily Tarot readings, and scripts. Secondly, you can simply message an expert if they're online and start a conversation without linking a card and paying immediately. There are ratings, live descriptions, topics and specializations, and the prices are reasonable, without the outrageous $24.99/minute.

What do the apps lack? All of them have limited content: you can't browse articles, read about your dreams, check sign compatibility, or read tarot card meanings. So, if you want more than just a session, but a real tool for self-development, communication, and self-understanding, PsychicBook currently offers the most common sense and free content.

User reviews of top astro apps

“I’ve tried several astrology apps, and PsychicBook stood out with how easy it is to use and how much free content it offers. From daily horoscopes to dream interpretations, it felt like a tool made for self-growth, not just a sales funnel.”

— Jessica Hart, New York, USA

“Kasamba had a clean structure and I liked the idea of getting 3 free minutes with different advisors. But honestly, the responses didn’t feel very personal, and I wasn’t sure if I was talking to a real person or a script.”

— Daniel Moore, Los Angeles, USA

“I tried Keen because of the $1 for 5 minutes promo, but it immediately asked me for payment before I could do anything else. I’d prefer an app that lets me try features without committing upfront.”

— Lauren Perez, Chicago, USA

“Purple Garden is visually appealing and I liked the video previews of the advisors, but I wish there were some free features before paying. It felt more like a shop window than an astrology app.”

— Michael Johnson, Houston, USA
